Latest addition to the FOB PARIS catalogue, the RED SOLAR collection uses solar technology, thanks to a honeycomb dial, designed to let through more than 60% of UV rays.
Behind this dial, solar panels, allowing the watch to run in total autonomy, without battery. Automatic watches convert gravity into rotating hands. Here, it’s the sun radiations that are transformed to power the watch.
This technology, invented in the seventies and and brought up-to-date by FOB PARIS in 2018 is the real essence to the thinnest collection of FOB PARIS, with its 8mm width. And as always, made in France, assembled in Besançon.
More than just a technical statement, the solar technology also inspired FOB PARIS designers for the design and the spirit of the watch.
A strong retro-modern style, with multiple references to pop culture and to the classics of cyberpunk science-fiction.
For this new watch, the RS-0, FOB PARIS is betting on minimalism and fluidness. And a design imagined in concentric circles, culminating into a dome, a curved sapphire glass, replacing the traditional flat glass of FOB PARIS watches.
The dome gives a spectacular effect to the RS-0, with its colourful reflections and the diffraction of the dial. Between retro inspiration and futuristic time traveller instrument.
A new colour is also brought into the RED SOLAR collection. A gun metal, associated with silver or gold dials, giving an industrial tone to the watch. More than just industrial, engine-like.
